About Us
Prior to 1993, a few couples in Silver City, New Mexico were praying for a Calvary Chapel to be started here in Silver City. They were familiar with the style of Calvary Chapel Albuquerque.
In February 1993, 5 or 6 people began meeting on Thursday evenings in the home of Chris & Marsha Christensen where Joseph Gros led a Bible Study. In September of that year, they began holding Sunday meetings in the Agape School and continued the Thursday evening Bible Study. They continued to meet there for 4 years.
In January 1998, the church began meeting at the Word of Life building off highway 180 east of town. Land was purchased and activities started toward building a facility for the church. The actual project started in 2000 when a metal building was purchased and now the church of some 300 people is meeting south of town off highway 90.
Today, our church has numerous ministries, studies, activities, our own school and a radio station.
We are indeed a fellowship and believe that faith in Jesus Christ is relevant, life changing, intellectually defensible & emotionally satisfying. With Jesus Christ, there is real hope and true life purpose.

We were thinking of you and just wanted to say, “Hi!” Decided to check for a website and lo and behold, this is where we are.
Donna and I leaving tomorrow for Jacksonville, FL to visit our son and family (Sophia at 1 is our third grandkid) Our daughter and her hubby closer to us with two and third on the way.
Need to go for now but wanted to let you know we are thinking of you. Had a neat couple here last night who go to the local Calvary Chapel in Spokane. They are looking at possibly buying our home as we move over with Christie, our daughter, and family.
